Looking back at the purchase of our home my memories of gratitude fill my mind and a realtor by the name of Steve Cormack, who truly went above and beyond his job expectations. He is a man who went out of his way in all aspects to ensure that my fiancé and I would have a secure, stable place to live and a place that we can finally call home. I remember the first call I put into Steve’s office inquiring about a home that we thought would be very suitable for us. It seemed to be the ideal home for us as it had a basement suite to rent for income. I was brief and was trying to set a date to meet. I explained that I was “ handicapped” a bit and I recall him saying that he would take a look at it and get back to us. He got back to us very quickly and he was completely straight forward with us, taking into account my disability and said that it was a fixer up home and possibly was not the right home for us. Interesting looking at our situation, Steve could have easily taken advantage and sold us this home. However, I believe that his morals and values are more important to him than making a sale. So our journey continued, as we found homes on MLS we would call him all hours of the day and he would always faithfully call us back. He would not just meet us at these homes to view, but Steve would pick us up with his own vehicle and take us to view these homes. We finally thought we had found the home of our dreams, or more we were just wanting out of our apartment so desperately for many reasons. I was still skeptical about this home as I felt the yard was a bit larger than what we could handle but thought we could make it work. It was our second viewing and the day of a possible offer we were going to make. That morning before meeting with Steve I came across one home that I knew I just had to view. I asked Steve if it was possible and he was so good about our change of heart, and somehow he knew that we were not completely satisfied, so he made arrangements for us to view the home I wanted to see. As soon as we saw the side entrance door and followed him in that day, we knew this was HOME! He recommended a mortgage advisor, who as well is an amazing lady. We managed to get the mortgage and put an offer in! So upon our offer being accepted, we realized we lacked a place to store our belongings until possession date in order for us to clean our apartment, etc. At the time we did not have an active credit card and Steve came to our rescue. He took it upon himself to rent a storage unit, and YES he paid for this storage unit as well. In addition, beautiful card and paid dinner at The Keg was well enjoyed by my fiancé and I compliments of Steve. We had believed that apartment living would be our destination and had lost so much hope and pride. I get a chuckle and love watching my fiancé as he is always making sure the lawn is mowed, the snow is shoveled and so on. Sometimes I wake up and he talking in his sleep about an improvement he wants to make on our home. He says to me often, “ now I get why people have signs up in their home saying Home Sweet Home.” Anyways, regardless if people tell you that it costs more for a realtor and they say you lose out on so much; with Steve Cormack he put our beliefs and trust in humanity once again. In the end if you look at the big picture, this realtor will ensure he accommodates you, guides you and will pay attention to detail of what exactly will benefit you and your family, and we are so pleased and thrilled with the outcome.
